I used to travel a ton for work so tinder down south worked alright.but that was temporarily (2-3 days per city). Now a permanent job offer in Nashville Tennessee opened up.but I have some serious concerns. I understand that Nashville is in the Bible belt, but are other dating apps like Tinder full of women that will only date other Christians? Any other suggestions on how to meet single women in this town aside from dating apps? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Dating & Sex I’m possibly moving to Nashville in a few months and I’m curious about the dating scene. Are there anyone on this sub currently living in Nashville that can provide some insight? How is dating in nashville? More specifically for a mid 20s african american male. DO people ussually meet in public? Or mostly thorugh apps? Nashville dating scene - what's your experience been? As a single, edumacated professional (soon to be 30) woman, I've found that there seem to be way more professional single men in just about every other large US city than in Nashville.

I used to travel a ton for work so tinder down south worked alright....but that was temporarily (2-3 days per city).

Now a permanent job offer in Nashville Tennessee opened up....but I have some serious concerns:

I'm mixed(black/white) so I sometimes get confused with indian or latino....I get tagged as all sorts of races and wonder how it will be perceived down there.

Some questions....

1.I heard everybody is married off by 25 down south....true? I'm a single guy who's 29...I wont be the old guy in the bar? I don't club as much and love live music....would hate for the above to be true.

2. I like the whole rainbow for dating...Indians, Asians, black, latino. Lack of diversity in Nashville or the south? Any opposition or weird looks if I walk down the street with another race?

3. Outside of tinder, bars, clubs, how do most southerns meet people....please don't tell me church. I'm nt religious

4.I'm an app developer....is there any backlash against tech bros who has moved in? Nashville has a booming tech industry so I've heard.

5. Kinda dumb....but given it's a huge music mecca, I assume lots of young starlets coming to town and looking for attractive dudes along with music success is a norm? I'm a former pro-concert photographer so meeting women in the music scene wouldn't be too hard I assume....everybody loves a good photog and web developer.

6. Gaming southern women? I'll assume easier but will I get tons of crap for not being white?

7. Are Nashville and women around that area attractive?

8. I have other areas I can move to for jobs like Austin, texas or Denver(not quite south). This was the first job offer out the gate so I can definitely wait out for other locations/city...currently in Chicago area and hate winter/high taxes/dead infrastructure. Would love to get out to a warm place again.

9. Rampant obesity or pretty southern princesses? I've heard both stereotypes about the southern.

What are your experiences like with the dating life here in Nashville?

I've been here 2 years now, and largely find that the dating scene is abysmal.

I can't hammer down exactly why, all I know is I have had more trouble here than any city I've ever lived in. And I have not put on any weight, majorly changed my appearance or lifestyle, and my 'game' is still fine - as has been easily proven on recent trips out of town.

My only hunch is it's the combination of flakey people, Christian/family values, the transient nature of a lot of the transplants, fomo, fear of settling down, unrealistic expectations, male:female population ratio, the amount options from dating apps (not exclusive to nashville obviously), lifestyle differences, or simply people not even knowing what they themselves want.

I notice a lot less couples, people holding hands, any act of PDA etc here than most places I visit too.

What do you all think of the dating scene here? Better than other cities? Worse? Notice truth in my post or is this an independent issue?
